DocPlanner has closed an €80m Series E funding round, it was announced this morning, bringing the total amount raised by the company to around €130m. The round was led by London-based One Peak Partners and Goldman Sachs Private Capital Investing, with participation from Piton Capital and ENERN Investments, existing investors.
DocPlanner, founded in Poland in 2012, is one of a number of players in the online doctor booking space. It offers doctors and clinics a SaaS tool to improve patient flow and help “digitise” their practices, and allows patients to book appointments through its online marketplace with healthcare professionals. DocPlanner says that it currently processes 1.5 million bookings every month, serving around 30 million patients.
In a statement this morning, the company said that it would use the new funding to continue its push in core European and Latin American markets, purse R&D activities and expand its team. DocPlanner now has more than 1,000 employees globally and 100 positions open, with offices in Warsaw, Barcelona, Istanbul, Rome, Mexico City and Curitiba.
“This fresh funding comes at the best moment in the company‚Äôs history. The growth rate in our core business is accelerating and we‚Äôre seeing more opportunities in our space, both in terms of customer segment and product offering, as the health tech market matures,‚Äù said Mariusz Gralewski, founder and CEO of DocPlanner.
“Since our last funding round, we’ve focused on the core marketplace and SaaS business; now we are making a concentrated push into new growth areas. This is an exciting time for DocPlanner, patients, doctors and partners alike,” Gralewski added.
DocPlanner also said that it might look at “bolt-on acquisitions” of young cloud-based software companies, after acquiring competitors from Turkey РEniyihekim Рin 2014 and Spain РDoctoralia Рin 2016.
“We see enormous potential to accelerate the digital transformation of the healthcare industry and look forward to helping DocPlanner further consolidate its position as the world’s largest and most innovative digital healthcare platform,” said Humbert de Liedekerke, managing partner of One Peak Partners.
