Zerto, an industry leader for IT resilience, has announced its membership of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), an influential organization which builds sustainable ecosystems for cloud native software. In becoming a Silver member, Zerto aims to support the development and success of the cloud native industry through active participation across the Foundation community, events, and projects.

CNCF serves as the vendor-neutral home for many of the fastest-growing open source projects, including Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Envoy. Zerto’s first engagement with the CNCF community will be its participation in KubeCon and CloudNativeCon Europe 2020 Virtual, CNCF’s flagship conference.

Zerto’s CNCF membership follows its recent announcement to extend its enterprise-class VM and cloud IT Resilience Platform to next generation applications. As more enterprises move to a DevOps model, the reliance on microservices Рtypically running in containers Рbecomes a starting point. Zerto is focusing on disaster recovery and data protection for containerized applications with industry-leading continuous data protection and journaling technology.

“We are excited to join CNCF as a natural expansion of our community as we extend our enterprise-class VM and cloud IT Resilience Platform to next-generation applications,” said Deepak Verma, director, product strategy, Zerto. “With Kubernetes as the de facto container management platform, Zerto’s first release is a Kubernetes native service for containerized applications, whether running on-premises or in the cloud. Our membership is ideally timed to build broader relationships across the cloud-native community.”

Priyanka Sharma, General Manager of CNCF commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome Zerto as a CNCF member. As more organizations transition to containers and cloud native technologies, the company’s expertise in disaster recovery and data protection makes them a great addition. We look forward to the teams’ contributions across the CNCF community, events, and projects.”
